A Message from HES Administrators
Dear Henderson Families and Visitors,
The faculty and staff of Alexander Henderson Elementary School (HES) join us in welcoming you to our school. We are proud to be one of Prince William County's World Class Schools. We want to take this opportunity to thank our school community for support, encouragement, and enthusiasm as we open our doors for the 25th time as a school community since September, 1985. We will continue to value our partnership with you as we provide a quality educational program that challenges our students. We encourage your active support and participation as we seek to provide a positive learning environment for all of our students.
Our Huskies have done an exceptional job as reflected in our student achievement on the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs). This year, we are launching the Olweus Bully Prevention Program (OBPP) that has been phased in Prince William County over the past five years. It is program with an international success record in reducing the amount of incidences of bullying. This is a commitment that takes the united efforts of students, staff, and community. Our entire staff has reviewed student survey data to determine the degree to which students feel safe. We will work with students and parents to identify what bullying is and take measures to prevent and stop it. Our goal is to make every child feel safe before, during, and on the way home from school.

Communication between home and school is very important to the success of the school. We encourage each of you to remain active in your child's education. Always keep the lines of communication open with the school and reinforce the skills and procedures introduced by the classroom teachers on a daily basis. We welcome your participation in the school improvement process through the Henderson Advisory Team (HAT) and the PTCO. We will continue to send home Friday folders with information and electronic PTCO newsletters. We encourage you to check our wonderful website on a regular basis for our many school activities, events, and other information.
With the assistance of the entire Henderson educational community, we are certain that our school will produce knowledgeable, well rounded caring students for the future. Once again, welcome to Henderson Elementary School. We are glad you are part of our team!
Our Journey Has Begun...Destination Excellence.
Proud to be Your Principals,
